urban life

People of Kampung Bharu along Jalan Raja Muda Musa consists of a community that peddles their own goods. These people are independent such that they mend businesses along these streets and reside nearby their place of business. Few of the shop owners are also immigrants, particularly Indonesians who live in flats situated close to where they worked. Traffic is light in the morning along these streets. Away from the Kuala Lumpur city centre, Kampung baru is a less commercialized way of tranquil living.

Rapid urbanization in Kuala Lumpur itself has had a large impact on the  kampong lifestyle along this street. Modern cultural influences are evident in such a nostalgic street.
